SongBuilders has existed since January 2009, and in that time we have done every kind of gift song we could have ever imagined.
At the start it was all about the wedding gift songs. First dance songs are a hard choice for the modern couple as the average song used is romantic and mushy but often enough too cheesy. We make it how you want it. (See some examples on our new wedding gift songs page.)
We have also had some commissions from stag do’s and hen do’s which were bought as group wedding gifts from all the friends and family. They all split the cost and all had a say in the content of the song. We had a great time doing these ones because the group wanted humour in the song as well as a story and a touch of romance.
Anniversary gift songs have been popular as imagined. The client normally sets a scene where they are taking their partner to celebrate however many happy years together. The great thing about this is we can learn more by where people celebrate such occasions, which helps us when writing and composing the song.
Mother’s Day songs and Father’s Day songs have not caught on quite as much but give it time. These occasions come round once a year and it just so happened we were just getting started at that point. What a lovely way to say thank you to your parents, or grand parents or on a birthday to a sister or brother cousin or friend.
Other occasions you may want a gift song could be…congratulations to your kids for their exams…congratulations to a new family. A song for a newborn baby. A farewell gift song for a leaving do, a retirement song… or even a get well soon song!
Maybe you don’t need an occasion at all to say thank you or I love you….
Its like a photo, the way that music can capture a moment. We all have a song or two which has played a huge part in our lives.
A song is the biggest tribute you can give to someone.
